A bloody video, reportedly released by ISIS, shows suspected ‘thieves’ having their hands chopped off as a punishment for stealing.
The video was released on November 7 and shows a man talking to crowds in a street before a second man is brought to the table by guards.
Laid out on a blue paper tablecloth is a small hand rest, plus a knife, rope and sharpening equipment.
Onlookers – including children – gather around the table, some holding guns by their sides.
The man then has the rope tied tightly around his forearm before guards apply an iodine solution to his wrist.
The video then cuts off, but the implication is clear.
Later, the man’s hand is bundled up in bandages as he is placed in an ambulance and taken to hospital for treatment.
The video is supposedly entitled: “Amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed” and is alleged to have taken place in Wilayat Homs, a city in western Syria.
